Globetrot around the world at Disney‘s Epcot! The German Pavilion along the World Showcase Lagoon is one of 12 international pavilions to visit.

Germany… Sightsee through this charming pavilion… set up like a quaint country village protected by a stately castle overlooking the lake. The style of the fortress is reminiscent of classic German castles along the Rhine and Mosel Rivers.

Wander through the cobblestone town square with its Bavarian architecture adorned with spires and flowering window boxes. Time your visit to hear the Glockenspiel in the clock tower chime its melody on the hour. Two Hummel children appear from the clock to ring the bell, just like the Glockenspiel in Munich. Cool off alongside the splashing fountain… featuring a statue of St. George, patron saint of soldiers, slaying the fabled dragon… a perfect photo op!

During Epcot’s International Flower & Garden Festival… enjoy the intricately designed topiary of Snow White & the Seven Dwarves next to the lagoon.

Step into the Biergarten Restaurant and you’ll feel like it’s Oktoberfest under the stars. The oompa band members with their felt hats and lederhosen entertain with polka tunes. Try the buffet lunch or dinner with “All You Care to Eat” traditional German fare… topped off with Bavarian Cheesecake and Apple Strudel with Vanilla Sauce for dessert.

The outdoor eatery, Sommerfest, offers classics like Bratwurst & Sauerkraut and Black Forest Cake… along with an assortment of German beers and Riesling wines.

Not to be missed is the Karamell-Küche — Caramel Kitchen — featuring a mouth-watering display of goodies… all made with Werther’s Original Caramel. The aroma alone will lure you in! All the Caramel Apples are hand-dipped with this… the best caramel. Indulge in their Strawberries and Pineapple dipped in Chocolate and drizzled with Caramel… or their Caramel Chocolate Cheesecake. All delicious!

Watch as they toss fresh popcorn in melted caramel to create their famous Caramel Corn… just like an Old World German caramel shop. Impossible to leave without a bag!

Visit the many shops around the courtyard including Der Teddybar featuring famous German Steiff teddybears. Stop into the Christmas shop for original German ornaments… especially the Christmas Pickle. German tradition has it that the child who first finds the pickle on the tree Christmas morning receives an extra gift from St. Nicholas

Be adventurous and shop for a traditional lederhosen… or at least a lederhosen t-shirt!

Weinkeller offers tastings of German wines in an authentic wine cellar ambience… a cool retreat from the Florida heat. Enjoy a cheese plate to complement the selection of wines. Take home a souvenir wine glass… or opt for an authentic German beer stein… including Mickey steins!

Stop by the lakefront Bier Kart and choose from a selection of fine German beer offerings… Hovels Bitterbier, Hefeweizen and Altenmunster OktoberfestProst (Cheers!) Savor your bier at the nearby benches with a view to the World Showcase Lagoon… before bidding Auf Wiedersehen to the German Pavilion at Epcot.
